Coronavirus kills. Conspiracy theorists and anti-vaxxers don't believe it. Those who don't wear masks don't care. And the amateur Morawiecki based his entire strategy to combat the virus on the number of infections, not seeing how dramatically the number of deaths in Poland is increasing. And the numbers are terrifying.

In Poland, approximately 7,700 people die in one week. A few more people choose winter to die, and a few fewer die in summer, but usually that many of us die in one week – plus or minus 15%. For example, in the forty-fourth week of the year (this year it is the week starting on October 26 and ending on November 1), 7,637 people died in 2019, in 2018 – 7,765 people, in 2017 – 7,594 people, in 2016 – 7,646 people, and in 2015 7,348. And how many of us died in the forty-fourth week of this year? Well, this number is 14,115! So 6,478 more people died this week than in the same week last year. This is an increase of 85%!

What do you think is the cause of this huge increase in deaths in Poland in the last week of October compared to last year? The weather, boredom with the PiS government, the flu or Covid?

According to statistics provided by the Polish Ministry of Health on Twitter (unfortunately, in a country ruled by PIS, the only source of government COVID statistics is Twitter), in the forty-fourth week of 2020, 193 people died in Poland due to COVID, and 1,155 people died due to the coexistence of COVID with other diseases. This gives a total of 1,348 people who died this week while being infected with coronavirus at the time of death. But the increase in deaths is 6,478 people, which means that of these people, as many as 5,130 were not infected with coronavirus at the time of death. So why did they die if they were not infected with coronavirus?

The answer is unfortunately painful. COVID killed them too. But not directly. It killed them because they had another deadly disease, but because of COVID there was no free bed for them in the hospital. It killed them because their chemotherapy was canceled because of COVID. It killed them because they did not go to the doctor in time because of the fear of COVID. And so on and so forth.

How do we look in this statistic compared to other European countries? In the same, forty-fourth week of 2020, compared to the previous year, the increase in the number of deaths in Germany was 3%, in Great Britain - 8%, in France - 20%, in Spain - 27%. Italy unfortunately did not provide data. Poland with a result of 85% is the undisputed European leader in the increase in deaths!

This is the true measure of your ability to cope with the pandemic, Mr. Morawiecki.

This wave of deaths is growing. For now, the statistics end with the forty-fourth week of the year. But it is worth looking at how they looked in previous weeks. In week 44, the increase in the number of deaths compared to the previous year was 85%, in 43 - 59%, in 42 - 29%, in 41 - 16%, in 40 - 9%. We are therefore dealing with a real wave of deaths, contrary to government analyses, which speak of a stabilization of the second wave of COVID.

Mr. Prime Minister Morawiecki. I am addressing you using diplomatic terms, although I am tempted to write differently, because I consider you an amateur, a liar, a manipulator and a pest.

First, instead of getting excited about infection statistics, please note that your nation is starting to die more and more.

Secondly, please refrain from introducing idiotic restrictions, because they may reduce the number of infections, but they will not stop us from dying.

Thirdly, instead of vetoing it, accept the EU budget and immediately invest this money in the health service to stop Poles from dying not from COVID but from cancer, stroke, diabetes and other diseases that are untreated or improperly treated due to COVID, causing more and more unnecessary deaths of Poles.
