Turn back time
There was Agnieszka, in whose apartment I first tried alcohol. There was Dorota, an avid runner and marathon runner. There was Edyta, who has fascinated me with her hats on Facebook for a long time. There was Edyta, with whom we celebrated our first camping trip. There was Gosia, with whom we didn't make a couple only because my brother beat me to it. There was Grzegorz, from whom I got coffee brought from a mission in Rwanda and a book "God's Calculator". There was Iwona, who remembered the most spicy details of our class relationships. There was Jacek, who publishes a lot of posts on Facebook - I don't always agree with them, but they are definitely inspiring. There was Jacek, who treated us to his fruit liqueur. There was Jola, who lived above me - when I needed help with Polish, I would knock on the ceiling a few times with a broomstick and after a while we would meet on our balconies. There was Magda - my first, true, crazy and unfulfilled love. There was Marek, who boasted about his achievements in beach volleyball. There was Renata, with whom we had been a couple for three months and with whom we recalled our song from the disco in Zakopane - "Liberian Girl". There was Tomek, who in one breath and without mistakes recited the complete list of our class's surnames in alphabetical order. There was Tomek, the first on the list, who presented his cooking skills. There was Tomek and Jacek, who lived in the neighboring block.

Despite the grey hair, the rolls of fat and the dark circles under our eyes, we are the same. Gestures, posture, body language, gaze, temperament and character – nothing has changed for me. I saw the same, well-known children from the Żeromski Elementary School in Kontancin, which we started 46 years ago, in 1975.

We ate, drank and reminisced. They say you can't turn back time. On this rainy Saturday evening, we did. At least for a moment.
