Russia has fallen
Powerless against the resistance of the brave Ukrainians, Putin's army withdraws its troops from Kiev to continue operations in the east of the attacked country.

Liberated villages and towns are revealing the grim truth of this war. Women raped before death, men tortured in their own basements, executions in the forests, children shot in the face, cyclists shot like ducks.

Europe has not experienced such brutality, which is taking place just beyond our eastern border, since World War II and Srebrenica in the 1990s.

Putin is directly responsible for this atrocity, but I do not agree with the thesis that it is solely his responsibility, because Russians, the entire Russian nation, are also jointly responsible.

I am aware that this nation has suffered greatly over the centuries, has been battered by communism, humiliated by Stalin, suppressed by vile propaganda, deprived of rights, stripped of dignity and lured with dreams of a great empire ruling the world. However, this does not change the fact that it is complicit.

The mothers who raised soldiers capable of shooting themselves in the back of the head are to blame. The fathers whose sons rape Ukrainian women are to blame. The residents of Moscow are to blame, who, having access to the internet, believe that Russia is liberating Ukraine from Nazism. The ordinary citizens who consider Stalin the greatest leader in history and support Putin are to blame. The city dwellers are to blame, because they are passive and do not protest against this war.

Putin would not have started this war without the support of the Russians.

Power is only as strong as the nation from which it emanates.

The nation is jointly responsible for the sins of every government. Just as the Germans are jointly responsible for what Hitler did, and the Cambodians for what Pol Pot did.

I don't want to lump all Russians together. I don't want to invalidate this more beautiful part of Russian history, Russian culture, art, cuisine and beautiful language, but today there are very few Russians who are able to draw conclusions from their difficult history and understand the consequences of this war.

Ukrainians will not forget this suffering and nothing will bring back those whom this war took, but Ukraine will be rebuilt and will be stronger, safer and more proud. This war will not change the world, the world will quickly forget about it. But for Russia this war will have serious consequences. This war has already caused the moral decline of Russia and Russians. This is the decline of Russia, which was unable to distance itself, settle accounts and work through all the evil that communism has done to the world and the Russian people. After this decline, Russia will rise for many decades.

I do not agree with the words of my Pope Francis, who said that we are all guilty of this war.

In my opinion, the Russians are to blame.
